I live in Johannesburg and travel all over southern Africa to capture images of birds and wildlife, my favourite photographic subjects. My images have been published in a wide range of magazines, books and calendars and I have twice reached the finals of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, once as runner-up in in the category “Behaviour: All other animals”. I also won the BirdPhotographers.Net Image of the Year Award in 2008. My passion for wildlife photography started in the nineteen nineties, and it has been a main theme in life ever since. I am very grateful to Nikon for a sponsorship of equipment a couple of years back, which helps me to pursue my passion with some of the best tools available for that purpose. I am an avifaunal specialist consultant by profession, and most of my work has to do with the management of bird impacts at renewable energy projects.
