I live in Plettenberg Bay in the Western Cape and travel all over southern Africa to capture images of birds and wildlife, my favourite photographic subjects. My images have been published in a wide range of magazines, books and calendars and I have twice reached the finals of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, once as runner-up in in the category “Behaviour: All other animals”. I also won the BirdPhotographers.Net Image of the Year Award in 2008. My passion for wildlife photography started in the nineteen nineties, and it has been a main theme in life ever since. I am very grateful to Nikon for a sponsorship of equipment a couple of years back, which helps me to pursue my passion with some of the best tools available for that purpose. I am  an avifaunal specialist consultant by profession, and most of my work has to do with the management of bird impacts at renewable energy projects.
